when a tank rolls over a tree and the tree falls, all the near by infantry dies?  or when a sticky bomb explodes on a tank all the nearby infantry dies?  how is infantry suppose to work with the tank this way?  i had 1 stug and 3 volks squads attacking a Sherman 76, it blew up the stug and the explosion killed the 3 volks squads, i dont remenber this happening before.

im guessing its for added realism. if u think about it, an explosive on the side of a tank would and should spray shrapnel left and right and if u have any squads of any sort near the explosion site, then they will most likely get killed.

yea but it makes no sense in the game escpically on maps with narrow roads like Lyon(atleast one side).  When armor is supported the infantry gets killed every time another tank appears but when tanks are not escorted, theres AT guns and bazookas

not really sure what ur trying to say here. are u trying to say in the mod or in regular coh that they dont get killed?

they get killed too fast in the mod,  i know that in regular COH there was also damage but it wasnt that much, i mean wtf i just lost a 10 man squad cause a sherman ran over a tree and the tree fell on them, and theres ALOT of trees on La glazie.  This is rediculas cause this limits infantry to stay on the roads since and even here they can get run over by tanks

hmm, well that is kinda lame i guess. especially since infantry should be able to go inside of the forests on la glazie but not tanks as that is what actually happened during the BotB. tanks were limited to roadways and hence bastogne, a key junction for 7 roads leading in and out of it was key for the germans to take.

I never noticed/knew that tanks killed infantry when they ran over trees.....

go try out the map la glazie and let infantry march along side with your tanks as they cut a way through the trees

Trees and vehicles that explode
of course cause casualties among infantry near the explosion.
Killing 3 Squads was BAD, REALLY BAD luck.

The tree... well, I wanted to add the shrapnell effect in woods, also
chunks falling down on infantry and so on... almost forgot about that

maybe I should nerf that a little bit.. Wink

nerf the trees definitely, becuz in real life, it would splinter with artillery and not when a tank knocked it over. a cool feature u could add for certain artillery types would be a timer/altitude fuse where it would allow a shell to explode at the top of the trees and rain shrapnel on the ground, kinda like the british overwatch artillery does.

right. and if a soldier is hit by a falling tree or branch, he is injured.

About the tanks again: tanks and vehicles which exlplode
cause damage to nearby infantry. This was in BotB since the
very beginning.
